HueyCore

Smart Porting to every platform

You've got a great game to take to market on consoles - just one problem, it needs porting first. Huey works with you to make porting more predictable and more efficient, with the smart porting service powered by HueyCore. Whatever your needs, Huey is here to help guide you to a happier porting experience, so you can focus on killing it on consoles.

My Work On This Project

Porting

Since starting at Huey Games in late 2019, I have been heavily involed in the development of HueyCore, contributing to all supported platforms regarding existing and new functionality. This includes:

  • Activities (PS5 only)
  • Achievements/trophies
  • DLC
  • DualSense triggers and enhanced vibration
  • File management
  • Leaderboards
  • Localisation
  • Networking for online gameplay and session handling
  • User management
  • Vibration/rumble

Additionally, HueyCore contains multiple sets of tools to assist development in the Unity editor environment.

The first thing we do when starting a project is integrate HueyCore into it. We have a lot of tools to automatically replace existing functionality of C# and Unity in order to direct it over to HueyCore instead of it's default implementation in order to reduce the time spent getting up and running on a project. All of this happens with minimal changes to the original source meaning clients are generally free to contribute to the project without being affected by our work.
